Meet our trustee and staff team
Lichfield Arts is run by a team of enthusiastic, experienced trustees and staff. Collectively they have responsibility for the running of Lichfield Arts.
Greg Gibbons – Chair
My name is Greg Gibbons I am the Chair of the Trustee’s, I joined Lichfield Arts in August 2020.
I have a 30 year career in the hospitality industry working a wide range of businesses large and small.
My passion and love for live music and entertainment comes having being part of and running many events during my career in hospitality.
Phil Beale – Vice Chair
I became a Trustee of Lichfield Arts in October 2013, and am now Vice Chair.
As well as assisting the Chair in steering the organisation’s overall development and operation I am the trustee responsible for Fuse and regularly assist with income generation.
I have a passion for music and the arts, and play guitar and compose/record original music with my band Maximum 90.
Brian Pretty – Honorary President
My name is Brian Pretty and I first volunteered in the 80’s to run the bar, and was appointed administrator and then director in the 90’s.
Besides formulating the artistic programme, I introduced the Real Ale, Jazz & Blues Festival in 1990, followed by beer festivals.
I was founding director of Fuse for 11 years before finally retiring in 2011.
Stuart Davies – Vice President
I have been associated with Lichfield Arts for over fourteen years, ten of them as Assistant Director. I am a trustee and have been Vice President since 2015.
I serve on the Funding Group and I am Chair of the L2F Committee. I am also a trustee of Wildfire Folk and co-founder and ‘captain’ of Lichfield Lighthouse Company.
You will also see me as MC or Chief Steward at many of our concerts and events.
John Percival – Trustee
My name is John Percival and I am the Trustee responsible for Lichfield Art’s Outreach community projects.
I have been working in the arts and education sector for the last 15 years and have been supporting Lichfield Arts in various capacities for over 6 years.
Rob Tilston – Trustee
My name is Rob Tilston and I am a trustee of Lichfield Arts with responsibility for looking after the bar – a subject dear to my heart.
I have been a volunteer for 15 years or more and have been a trustee since 2005 including a stint as chair for two years.
My wife Liz is also a volunteer.
Lou Ramsdale – Trustee
I’m Louisa (Lou) and I joined the Lichfield Arts team in January 2021 and will be responsible for “Volunteering”, improving our overall volunteer strategy and to act upon volunteer feedback.
I retired from BT Global Services in 2019 after 30+ years of corporate life.
My family live in Lichfield and together we have attended various LA events over the years prior to becoming a trustee – King Pleasure and the biscuit boys being a personal favourite they played at my Wedding so will forever
hold a soft spot in my heart.
Peter Harvey- Trustee
I’m Peter Harvey, and I became a trustee in April 2022. For three years previous to that, I had been part of the team for Lichfield Festival of Folk.
I have a background in business and for the last thirty years have run my own language training and proofreading company; I’ve also been a trustee of another charity involved in promoting recycling.
I plan to offer the skills I’ve learned in my business career to help move Lichfield Arts forward in its journey to deliver quality events and outreach projects to the city.
Tim Perks – Trustee
My name is Tim Perks. Until recently I was the Marketing Manager and Artistic Programmer for Lichfield Arts.
I have been involved in Lichfield Arts for over 17 years and have been on the management committee for over 10.
I have been both vice-chair and chair of Lichfield Arts in the past and I was the Fuse festival director for 3 years.
I am a graphic designer in my professional life and in my other free time I play guitar in a blues and soul band, The Sleaze Brothers.
Mark Jones – Administration Manager
I am Mark Jones and I have been Lichfield Arts Administration Manager since 2014. I am involved in many areas of Lichfield Arts including Fuse, L2F and the Blues & Jazz Festival, as well as assisting the trustee
team in the running of the organisation.
I enjoy my job and being involved in Lichfield Arts and before this my career was based in the Civil Service for many years.
As well as live music I enjoy photography, motorsport, reading, rock climbing and would like to try more extreme sports since doing a bungee jump in 2019.
Justine Strange – Accounts Administrator
I’m Justine, I am the Accounts Administrator for Lichfield Arts and after taking redundancy and relocating from Hampshire I have been working here part time since September 2018.
I live with my husband, son & springer spaniel Stowford in Sutton Coldfield and we have all thoroughly enjoyed attending gigs & festivals since I joined the team.
Lichfield is truly a beautiful place and I feel privileged to work here and be part of the great work Lichfield Arts are doing in bringing the community together.
